This week has been incredible as far as growth in my Intro to Internet Communications class! I am loving it. This week we had to add audio and video to our site. It was totally easy because everything has clicked now. I am pretty sure I probably could have done it with the instructional video, however, it was so much easier watching Dr. Zeng do it and took a lot of the guesswork out.
For my audio, I decided that I wanted to use a few songs I had recorded back in 2008. I had the opportunity to go into a music studio to record. It was such an amazing experience. I enjoyed every minute of it, so to have that available for this class was incredible. I posted 3 songs. Even God much Get the Blues, I Can’t Do That Anymore, and Godspeed were the three I decided to share.
Even God much Get the Blues by JoDee Masina, which is one of my favorite songs of all time, was the first one. This song just speaks to my soul. When I sing this song, I can feel it in my entire body.
The second one I posted was I Can’t Do That Anymore by Faith Hill. It is about a woman who marries and gives up her life to take care of him and their home. She says she can’t do it anymore and wants to be happy and figure out who she is. At the time I recorded that song I just liked it. Now that I am older and have a family of my own and an amazing husband I can relate a little bit more. I think women get so wrapped up in their families they forget to take care of themselves.
The third song I posted was Godspeed by the Dixie Chicks. This song just pulls at my heartstrings, because when my nephew was little I used to sing it to him while rocking him in the rocking chair to put him to sleep at night.
I am very proud of the way the audio page turned out. It is incredible that I now know how to add audio to a website in Dream Weaver.
The next part of our lesson this week was uploading a video that we had edited to YouTube and then linking it to our website. For this part of the assignment, I chose two videos that I had put together while on our family trip to Hawaii.
The first video was a video that we took when we visited the Dole Plantation. They also have the world’s largest maze called the Pineapple Maze. It was so making fun. In this video, I took pictures and also a time-lapse video of us doing the maze. It turned out good.

The second video was of us stopping on the side of the road to get a fresh coconut. This was on my daughter’s bucket list. Unfortunately, she hated it…and so did everyone else, but it was an experience that I am glad that we had. I took videos and photographs and created them. It is super cute.

The last thing we did this week was learning some CSS material. I had a hard time with that one because it is new material and it will just take some time to click. This was not my favorite part of the week because I felt lost again, but just like before the cloud will lift and it will all click one day.
