Man, oh, Man! I have had a crazy week! I started Summer Term 1 classes this week and to say I am overwhelmed is an understatement. I am taking a full load this summer…18 hours!!!! I am not sure what I was thinking, but I am determined to ace all of my classes. I am extremely driven to graduate next summer. Thank God, I have such a wonderful husband and family that understand that I am doing the best I can and picks up the slack. Luckily there are two terms this summer, so I am only having to focus on three classes at a time.
During this first summer term I am taking Crisis Communications, Introduction to Internet Communications, and Social Media Measurement. For the sake of my sanity and yours, I am just going to focus on my Introduction to Internet Communication class in this blog. I am going to be writing about everything that I am having to do, how it is going, any fears I may have, and of course what the outcome is! That would be a bummer not to share the outcome, right?!?!?
On Tuesday, I logged into my classes and boy was it a sight! I still am feeling the pressure of all the assignments and expectations. However, I always feel this way the first couple of days of class. You have to read the syllabus and figure out what the BIG projects are going to be and also learn what each instructor's expectations are.
Introduction to Internet Communications, the big project is creating a personal website that we will be working on in class. Sounds a little daunting to someone who has never built a website and doesn't have any programming experience at all, right? However, I am actually really excited about this, because it is something that we will be working on in class and as long as I complete everything, I should be golden. I am also excited because this is something that I have been needing to do for myself. I have so many pieces of work that I have been putting off showing to the world just because I didn't have the knowledge of how to put it all together.
We, also, have a presentation and report due at the end of the term. We are allowed to work with a fellow classmate to complete this project. I emailed my classmate today to see if she would be interested in working together on this. I think it will be a lot of fun getting to know another classmate.
Well, I am going to get back to it. I have a ton of assignments to finish up. Next time, I will try and include some screen shots!
